About the maps
The guide map covers the area of Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen and Vantaa cities. The service is maintained in Helsinki City Survey Division's server.Address search
You can search addresses from the whole Helsinki Metropolitan Area (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen). Type at
least first three letters in the query field. You can write the whole address as well. The search results appears below
immediately after writing the first 3 letters. Select the street/address you want to locate, click the street name. Map
from that location opens to the map window. If only one address has found, the map positions itself automatically.
Street names
When Finnish address search has executed, the Swedish street name becomes visible (between brackets) in a tooltip when the mouse cursor moves over the search result line (see image). This action is similar in Swedish address search, the Finnish street names are visible in a tooltip.
Measuring
You can measure distances when the measuring mode is activated. You can choose between modes with the radio switch Move the m ap / Measure distances .
When measuring, the accumulated distance in metres appears under the measuring switch.
Return to the panning mode ends the measuring and the last readout remains in its line.

Moving in the maps
You can move the map by dragging the map image with mouse button depressed. Alternatively you can use the navigation arrows located in the upper left corner of the map window, or by moving the red dashed rectangle in the index map.The index map may be hidden by pressing the minus-symbol in the side.
You can also view the aerial photograph by changing the map layer from the map layer switch.
